If they do add shows, I hope it is another 5-10 - to do one would be just kinda weird.

I can't even remember a time where Kingston was the last stop on the tour. As much as I hope he is well enough to consider touring, it's just odd if they add more dates. Kingston feels like it.

Maybe the band hasn't used the term final because the don't like the definitiveness of the word.

My guess is that the primary goal for this tour is to manage it in such a way that Gord's health is not compromised.I find it hard to imagine them adding dates--if the tour ends & Gord still feels good, that would mean the tour has been a success on all burners--it would not mean there's a reason to jeopardize Gord's health any further by adding more dates. I would guess that, due to his illness, Gord is experiencing a level of exhaustion that is hard to imagine unless a person's been through a similar health crisis. I'm sure his doctors have explained to him that if he pushes himself too hard, he may not leave himself much to sustain him through his life after the tour. It will be a feat for him to finish the tour as it is scheduled. IMHO, obvs. I'd love to see more shows but everything has to be measured against Gord's health & the other priorities in his life.

Also, since it seems like the band's priority has been to provide fans with a chance to see them a final time, it wouldn't make sense to set up a "secret band"/surprise show, since it's not something that would give fair access to most fans.

I could see a thread of a chance of them doing a one-off at some point in the future, if Gord's health remains good--something in Toronto, maybe, New Years or maybe Canada Day next year. Or, my preferred choice, Canada Day 2028. Get well, Gord.

Today I saw one random poster on a wall, and then this huge billboard (at Yonge and Davenport):



A national celebration. Nothing about a final show. Just a broadcast of a concert by Canada's #1 band. I still have hopes for three more shows.

No...though tomorrow i'll go and take a picture. Its one of those glued on ones that you can't get off (not that i've ever tried or anything) 8) It was just black block letters saying "The Hip live from Kingston" and something else. Probably just more CBC propaganda.

Now a poster will legitimately be hanging on my wall. They're free! Glad I went up to get a closer look. Have a look for these around your hometown.

Now I have to track one of these down in Kingston before I leave! I only spotted one billboard.

I'll have to track one down in hamilton. CBC has a building here so might be a good spot to start.

I have seen billboard for it though and TV ads.

As much as I would like to see them come to my home-town of Buffalo, I can't see it happening. Every good entertainer knows to go out on top, leave them wanting a little more. So they add another leg in the US and it gets cancelled halfway and their last show is some random town American town? Go out on top, at home, with the world watching. Nobody should say it's the last tour publicly though. Miracles do happen, no reason to not give Gord hope.
