I agree
Where's this kickstarter that my ol' buddy LizardKing said he would start?
Get me a ticket, I'll personally print out all letters for the band and make sure they get them. I'll live upload videos and pictures of the day. I'll be the best Hipbase reporter any show has ever seen! :music :music
I'm kidding.
Kind of.
I'm not. I will pitch in.

THE TRAGICALLY HIP Broadcast LIVE in Market Square, August 20th 2016. I'm sure you've all seen the idea floating around the last few days. What I can confirm is some form of a celebration will be happening! What I can say about it isn't much at this point. Over the past 2 weeks we have had multiple people on all different levels working on this idea and putting things in place. As you can imagine it's been an incredibly busy week for The Hip organization and once the dust settles it will allow everyone to look at the big picture and put things in place. What it's going to look like, what's going to happen will all come out down the road. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that everything works out and we can all get together and celebrate The Hip as they play their final show of the tour at home.
Make sure you SHARE this post to ensure everyone knows the wheels are in motion and the right people are on the job!
WHO'S COMING DOWNTOWN TO JOIN THE CELEBRATION?!
Thank you Kingston!
Tim
This was posted on facebook today. Apparently this is someone who works for the city of Kingston.

I can't bring myself to start a kickstarter myself. If you guys do and we reach the goal, I will deliver anything you guys want, I will get a 2016-08-20 - Kingston / Hipbase tattoo, and I'll donate any overage to Sunnybrook. :music

Great news! If I can't make it inside the arena, I'll be there in the square :thumb:

I will totally support a Kickstarter to get Sean a ticket. He is like the Hipbase kid brother. I sure don't want to see the little fella miss out . No tattoo!

I looked into the kickstarter so here's the deal..
Kickstarter takes 5% of the total raised plus an additional 3% plus 20cents from every pledge made.
Plus they have rules.
Projects must create something to share with others.
Projects must be honest and clearly presented.
Projects can’t fundraise for charity, offer financial incentives, or involve prohibited items.
Looks like 1 and 3 would be a problem for trying to get a ticket to a concert, plus no charity.
Must be another way maybe set up a paypal account or something? Knowing some of the money was going to the charity would make people more likely to hand over their cash.
Jesus man, go into a little debt, ask your family, i'm sure they'd give you 0% interest

Thats what I said!
If this really is the end of the band playing live, whats 500 - 1000 bucks for a superfan.
That said Ill buy him a ticket if he gets "butts wigglin" tattooed on his behind.
Sean, put a bunch of crap on eBay and put the links up here. Surely someone will pay 100 bucks for some old sneakers and so on .

i'd would pitch in for that, lol
I'm not sure all the speculation about scalpers is accurate for the Toronto and Kingston shows.
If you look at the number of tickets for sale on stub hub for each of the shows, it's not that high.
For example, there are just over 600 available for the Toronto Sunday show, and just 118 for Kingston.
