Have an MTS Centre (Winnipeg) contact who says there will be no extra shows. At least in Winnipeg. I would assume what we see is what we get. Which makes sense.
Well... it looks like the code (easily guessed) is active on the non-ticketmaster venues now. Don't worry though, it doesn't allow any sales yet but it lets you into the page.
Toronto, Hamilton or Ottawa? Anyone have strong opinions regarding which is the best venue for a Hip show?

Hamilton is the most intimate, if that's what you're going for.

Toronto and Ottawa are similar venues, NHL arenas with 18-20k seats. The crap seats are far away but there's a big screen. Toronto could be tougher because of the population, but Ottawa will be pulling people from Montreal too.
Ottawa is out in the suburbs with nothing around it, while Toronto is downtown with walking distance to restaurants/bars for before & after.
Like many others on here I too am very nervous about this presale on Monday. I have been on the mailing list for more years then I can remember so I should get the code and that should be fine however I worry. I worry so much that I suspect I will be up tonight past 2am clicking refresh in my inbox to make sure it arrives. I am in the UK so 5 hours ahead of EDT. I am going to be throwing everything I have behind heading home to Toronto to experience one more show. Need to get those tickets Monday then book the flight! So nervous!

Ottawa shows are usually pretty good, but yeah -- the rink is in the middle of a field of car lots, so sucks in that respect. Plus, non-Tciektmaster and capital tickets always find a way to mess up high demand ticket sale days.
Looking at the maps on ticketmaster, Hamilton looks like it would be best (more intimate) but it looks like Fri 8/12 @ Toronto it has to be. Due to the credit card ticket policy, I cant risk not knowing 100% for sure that I can attend any other show than the Friday night show in Toronto.

I had hoped to just buy tickets for the week (all 3 shows) and then if something came up post them for sale here, but too hard to plan this far out with 100% certainty of not getting screwed.

Saw them in Guelph in '13 which was fine but I've been spoiled for sure by being an American fan. Been used to seeing them in clubs just feet from the stage (download the '98 Winston-Salem, NC show from the archives.....Awesome!)

If your interested, here is a piece I came across written about that show. http://buffalofm.wnymedia.net/flashback-...lina-1998/

I know we all have special memories of Hip shows and that night, to be one of about 400 in attendance was one I will never forget. Been spreading Tales of the Hip to anyone down here who would listen ever since...

I would've loved to have gone to an intimate show. The downfalls of being from near Kingston.. almost instant sellouts of a huge arena.
I'm hoping I get decent tickets in Victoria. I'm pretty stoked they are playing here. Our arena only holds 6 or 7 thousand people (not sure what exact capacity is for a concert).

I do hope the code comes later rather than sooner. The earlier it comes, the more time there is for someone to leak it out, and you'll have more people competing for tickets. Chris Cornell did a presale last year and they send the code out after the presale started. Woke up one morning got the announcement/code email. Went to see what was available and got front row. No time scalpers to find out the code Smile
Just received the pre-sale code, fyi.
And be quiet about it like email says!

Good luck tomorrow morning, everyone!

For the Victoria show, there is a note stating "The first 15 rows on the floor and Sections 101,102,103,107,108,and 109 are all designated Will Call only." That should help eliminate scalpers, I hope. I wonder if the other dates are the same.
Sunday August 14 just added for Toronto?
