There are no rumors or speculations out there yet but I have a feeling it will be The Hip. I'm not sure how much they enjoyed playing the Half-Time show back in 2004 but there are a couple reasons why it could be The Hip this year in Toronto. The obvious is The Hip is Canada's band and they will have a brand new fresh record out. Another is that this year's Grey Cup is a major event seeing how it is the 100th edition. And what really makes me think it will be The Hip is that if you look at the USA tour dates they have a bit of a break in the tour which perfectly fits for them to come back to Canada for the game. They play Salamanca on November 17 and don't have another show until they play Detroit on November 28, the Grey Cup will be played on November 25. On top of all that they will be close to the Canadian border with those shows and won't be far south.
Makes sense doesn't it?
Yes it makes sence and they can also play 100th Meridian to celebrate 100th Grey Cup. Im gonna be at the game so it would be nice to see them there too.
The Grey Cup promo that is being shown in CFL stadiums features "Gift Shop." That's what made me think TTH would play halftime.
Having trouble posting video, but if you search "It Reflects Us All" on youtube, you'll find it.
Not a big CFL fan but that video makes me want to be...

Not a CFL fan but this video is cool as hell. Nice job.
Not much more Canadian then the hip and the grey cup.
rush and the stanley cup?
Uh.... so instead of the Hip at the Grey Cup we get..... Bieber. Nothing says "football" like that guy. Carly Rae Jepsen, Marianas Trench and Gordon Lightfoot also to appear.
I'm looking at the bright side,.....................at least it's not Nickelback!
Lightfoot is the only reason I would consider that halftime show...love that guy...loved seeing him an Gord on stage together it was great!

Maybe they'll all play Hip tunes? Bieber already does Wheat Kings

The thought of selling my Grey Cup tickets entered my mind when I heard Bieber is doing the half time show. Its so annoying, his audience is teenage girls and nothing says football like teenage girls, right? NOT. What a waste of a great opportunity to stage an awsome show to celebrate 100 years. I think it sucks to have Bieber playing it. Gordon Lightfoot on the other hand is a good choice to participate. Seen him live in Kitchener a few years ago and he is still pretty good.

I think Lightfoot is a worse decision than Bieber. For my money Lightfoot>Bieber any day of the week, but in terms of what the halftime show is all about (ratings) I can't imagine Lightfoot putting on a mind blowing stage show.
Bieber is the biggest pop star in the world right now. That's pretty good for the CFL to be able to get him.
