Nickelback is coming to Cornwall. Anybody know why? Are they just trying to make history with the amount of cities they play in on this current tour? I just don't understand why they would play in a small town such as this.
I really dislike their music. When a Nickelback song comes on the radio, I cringe. I can't stand Chad Kroeger. Should my radio station play "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" one more time, I will start listening to a pop station. And yes I bought a ticket to the concert, they're only $39.00.

Is there not much to do in Cornwall? Sorry I am kidding but if you dislike them why spend your money on them? I really HATE their music and yes Chad, Nickelback DOES SUCK! I wouldn't even waste an evening of my life to see them, let alone pay anything.
But I hope you have a good time, and don't let anyone pelt them with bottles.
i saw them open for everclear a few years ago and they were great.
why does eveyone hate them . because they are popular.
maybe they write songs for the radio but who cares it is better than the crap on pop radio

cratch: I'm not for or against them, but they do have some god songs. I heard that Sloan has some kinda fued with them, I think i seen it on that much broadcast and NB handled it like professionals and said they like sloan,thinks thats what he said, not sure why bands do that to one another

We don't get much live music around here, other than the occasional karaoke night. The venue they're playing is really small. Perhaps, if I get really drunk, I might have a good time. Besides, my girlfriend wants to go. She's followed me around plenty for the Hip.
open your mind and let some good music in you might not like the cd but a live band kicks ass all the time
when i saw them with everclear my friend i got to talk to them after the show and they were very cool we talked to each for about half an hour
even talk about the hip.

In my opinion Chad and Nickleback are not really that. Well, they do write good music as in music that sells and catchy tunes but in my opinion that does not always guarantee that it is actually
good music. I think I saw an interview somewhere with Chad talking about his formula for writing hits. I'll give him that, he knows what the kids want and him and his promotors can sure sell it. He's also great at cloning his band and getting other Nicklebak bastard child bands going like What's-thier-names? You know who I mean, they sound exactly like Nickleback.
It's not because they're big that I don't like them. I'm all for a local band making it big, and they've made it HUGE, so good on em'. I don't know what it is really, but when I hear one of thier songs on the radio I tend to change the station. In my opinion they make hits, not great music. and it's easy to see that a hit does not necessarily = good music.
NB is okay but I find their music all sounds the same.

yeah i kinda liked them a few years ago but cant stand the new stuff that they are playing
i saw them at old fort york with a whole bunch of other canadian bands
this was like a couple of months before how you remind me exploded
i liked their first album, after that, not so much
there was this girl I knew who got all lofty about being a longtime fan...she boasted "I was a fan before The State, when all the girls came on board" as if she was snubbing fans, and I was like "girl...they had ONE album before The State and they were always mainstream, derivative and unoriginal and formulaic. get a life!"
IMHO nickelback are a second-rate band, certainly in comparison to the Hip, and they'll be forgotten in no time as soon as this particular movement of rock is laid to rest. But at least they're not Our Lady Peace.
Yeah, I hate our lady peace to, but for some reason I see them as at least more original! You can't really give Nickelback the title of being different. Did anyone see Will Sasso doing his impersanation of Chad. OMG that was so damn funny! :lol: :lol:
Bands like Nickelback make it because the music industry is always looking for the new "it" band or singer. The problem with the music industry in general is twofold: overcommercialization and politicalization. Labels are always concerned with finding bands that can sell catchy radio friendly tunes and the result is to mariginalize thoughtful music. And the bands will abandon these bands when their 15 minutes of fame is up, ie Candlebox and Live. I dont think Nickleback or Foo Fighters will be big 3-4 years from now unless they take a page from Aerosmith. Nothing against Aerosmith, they are great performers but their music has little meaning. Its not music, its entertainment.
