I was just introduced to The Darcys interpretation of Steely Dan's AJA. What I've heard so far of this album is compelling, and you can download it for free on their website:

The Globe and Mail didn't give it a very good review; they didn't believe an interpretation of of AJA was necessary, and maybe that's true. But it doesn't mean the music isn't engaging.

Port of Morrow leaked just after the Shins started streaming it on iTunes this week.
It is definitely different, but of course it is with only Mercer being the original bandmate. Nonetheless it does still have his type of lyrical representation that his music always has, just maybe not the high energy of songs like Kissing the Lipless or Sleeping Lessons. POM just makes me think of softer cuts off Chutes Too Narrow.

Last I remember these guys cancelled some shows abaout 8 years ago in Toronto due to Byrne's issues. I'm stoked to see these guys back; we caught them in Calgary at Mac Ewan Hall back in the late 90's and they absolutely blew the roof off that place. :thumb:

This album is really good, and in the same CanRock genre, Yukon Blonde just released their second album called Tiger Talk. It is really good. If you like Plants and Animals and Sam Roberts you will like this album.
