The captain of our World Junior team could be in trouble. After elbowing a player in the head last night, there is now talk that he could be suspended from ever playing junior hockey again. The hit is clearly dirty. You'll be able to see the hit somewhere around the halfway point of this video.

He's just another cowardly French p*ssy. I can't believe the lack of a forceful reaction from Tam's teammates. Guys like him and Steve Downie are disgraceful human beings and it just shows the idiocy of some Canadians that they cheered these guys on.

Easy there Grapes, yeeeeesh
You weren't calling him that two weeks ago.
Yikes. A suspension from junior hockey is most certainly warranted. Seeing Tam convulse like that on the ice was terrifying. What a cowardly hit. Disgraceful.

Ya, no kidding. I can name 5-10 players who are dirty as hell, and they are not French Canadian.
I thought it was kind of embarrassing that he was named captain after I saw what he did to that Swedish player in the exhibition game of the juniors, and I said so to my friends at the time. And then all the subsequent undisciplined, cheap shot penalties he took all tournament. But this incident is just inexcusable, kick this piece of shit out of hockey forever and charge him with aggravated assault. If he had have just waited til he made the NHL to act like Chris Pronger he probably would have been rewarded for it and called a rugged competitor. This behaviour hasn't hurt Downie or Pronger's careers at all.
I love the game of hockey. But, it is turning into a disgrace.
Secondly, Patrick Roy needs to keep his effing mouth shut!
Thirdly, before this hit, I could overlook the hit that he did in the Junior tournament. Now, this effing goon(I'm embarrassed that he was the captain of the team in the tournament) needs to be gone from the game of hockey.
Yes, I said gone, and NO SECOND CHANCES!!
I was on Youtube watching this video, and I could not believe the comments that some people were leaving. And they were all from Canadians. Some people need to give their freaking heads a shake and remember that hockey is just a game.
To see that player lying on the ice in convulsions made me sick to my stomach.
And speaking of goons, whatever happened to Chris Simon???
Exactly!
Brad
Don't you people have more important shit to concern yourselves with ( I heard there was something going down in Haiti, don't see any threads about that though, hmmmmm)? I'm not saying it wasn't a brutal cheap shot, and that it wasn't a chickenshit thing to do...but, I mean, somebody is going to thump this kid out for it eventually (just a matter of time), and hopefully that will help to straighten him out a bit.
When Domi did the same thing years ago, I don't remember the same public outcry, and demands that he be removed from hockey forever...he was still a fan favourite for years to come.
ps: if Chris Simon had half the skills of a Patrice Cormier, he'd still have a job in the NHL.
pps: what about this guy?

I didn't know who he was two weeks ago in all honesty. Hall and Eberle were pretty much the only Canadian hockey players I had heard of quite a bit on the team. The only game I saw was the final one against the US, and I just caught from the third period on in that one.
BTW, I don't care for Grapes. You'd know that if you remembered all the times I criticized him on here.

Don't bring Pronger into this. He's an ATG player and a future HOFer. Cormier and Downie are insignificant scumbags who can't play hockey for sh*t.

Pronger has been overrated his whole career, and he's just as dirty if not dirtier than Downie and Chris Simon. The only thing he does well is take booming slapshots from the point. He's slow as shit coming out of his own zone, and only intimidating because he's blatantly tried to end guy's careers with elbows to the head, and a foot stomp to the back of a leg. If he wasn't given the opportunity to play on the number one PP unit on every team he's ever played for, his stats wouldn't be so inflated and he would have been squeezed out of the game long ago like Simon and McSorley.
There's dude's in the hall of fame that have pulled shit like this for sure...I mean, hell, the elbow was one of Gordie Howe's trademarks.

Still doesn't make it right, but there's no denying that Howe was a tremendous player. I don't think Pronger is even that good of a hockey player. Also, back when Howe played I think it was rare if players didn't throw elbows around, hockey was much, much dirtier back then than it is now. But I mean, if we're gonna talk about hall of fames then Ty Cobb has to be mentioned. The guy would sharpen his spikes and then try to stab the legs of guys covering the bases he was sliding into, he was also the greatest hitter in the history of baseball.
