Hey guys, what are the venues in Salamanca and Syracuse like? Any info on ambiance, crowds, sound, etc would be appreciated as I decide whether to see them again on this tour. Oh and beer allowed at your seats or no?

Beer in seats? I do not know.
Syracuse is a nice old theatre. Sounds very good in most seats.
Salamanca - I have never been there. But i have been told the floor is flat/non-sloped - so it kinda sucks.

Perfect. I love being short!

Actually, they are heated cabins with a full size fridge, stove, 2 separate bedrooms, 3 beds per bedroom.
It is like fake camping.
This picture is of a cabin one step better than mine. This one is a little bigger and has a microwave and a bar separating the kitchen and eating area.
We are kicking around maybe staying in one of these cabins

Dave
I am staying in Beehunter #24
My cabin has the one main room with picnic table, fridge, stove.
Then it has 2 separate bedrooms - with I THINK 3 beds a room.
I have never been in the ones you are looking at - but it looks like it is one big room with the fridge, stove and beds all in that one room. And it looks like the only three sites left are the One Room Cabins
Both mine and yours have gas heat so at least it is warm.

redhill Wrote:thanks DanaOurs is also $96 a night. But for 2 nights at $200 divided by 6 people is only $33 a piece. That is a sweet deal for us.

Hmm, and my Hip ticket is more than double what it costs me for accommodations.
cratch:*Edit: My buddy just called and told me they are actually bunk beds in the one room cabin.
And the only trail I ever stay on is Beehunter, so I am not familiar with any other loops.

That photo posted before is way too nice to be Allegheny. That probably costs a shitload.

That freakin' cabin actually comes with linens, plates, cups, sheets and pillows on the beds, cooking utensils, bathroom, shower and I think it is like $130 a night.
It is a girls camping paradise.

Hey Hipsters, I live just up the road from the casino. If there are any questions about the area, just ask.
The Venue does have a flat floor but most all seats get a good view of the stage. Two large video screens help those people seated along the sides. I can say the acoustics are near perfect. Bar in the lobby, no drinks allowed inside.
Sound board is visible to all, go take a peak at the set list before they even start.
Salamanca itself has very little to offer. A very HIP town is just north. Ellicottville NY is a destination resort town and home to Holiday Valley ski area, many, many party bars with live music. Canadian folk are very familiar with this area.

Where to eat? Any good wings?

Ellicottville Depot has the best wings around, just across from Holiday Valley. The owner is from Oakville and is a huge Hip fan. I'll see if we can't have a before and after party there. http://www.evldepot.com/
