As of the 14th you can hear the whole album on msn/music. What are all your thoughts? I really want to like it, I want OLP to do good but i found the songs to fall short. It is a very short album and i feel it is missing something big. From first listen i grade it a C+/B-. HOWEVER and HOPEFULLY it grows on me.
I am a huge OLP fan and I cannot wait for next week's release! I really like it actually from what I have heard so far. It does seem kinda short though, I agree. I guess with 4 years between albums I am happy to have ANYTHING from them though. I am sure it will be a grower if it doesn't grab you straight away. Happiness and Machines were both albums that definitely didn't grab me from the start, but Paranoid did and this sounds a little more like the latter from what I have heard.

I love OLP, saw them on sat. with stone temple pilots, they kicked ass. bring on the tour indeed!
as for the album..short maybe (38 mins i think) but amazing, i love the new songs this is a kick ass album.
i dont care if an album is long or short if the songs are tight and this album is that, i think its one of their best efforts, perhaps even their best work yet....i still need more time to take it in, but its becoming my favorite OLP album with each listen.

Even though I somewhat despise them now, i have to say, they were pretty darn good last night at the Ottawa bluesfest...Ice Cube was better though, and so were STP the night before.
I saw them a couple of weeks ago on july 3rd.

It's about what I expected. Not as bad as Gravity (I don't remember more than a few songs off Paranoid) but still pretty awful.

After two listens, 'Never get over you' is the front runner for personal reasons. Ugh I'm being such a girl!
I am sure it will change by tomorrow after spending an hour or two in the car cranking it (my favourite song, not the fact I am a girl......)

They haven't put out a decent album in ten years (since Happiness....) imo. Saw them in Buffalo at the Marquee At the Tralf June 11 1997. Was front row the whole night. They played pretty much everything from Clumsy and a few Naveed gems. Amazing concert. Saw them 3 years later in support of "Happiness" on some lame acoustic tour, and they were horrendous.
I must be lucky then cause ive seen em close to a dozen times now and every show was solid.
Got the album today and even though ive already heard it a bunch of times thanks to that preview, it sounds so much better through good speakers and it sure made the long drive home today pretty sweet.
Do yourselves a favour and buy the cd/dvd package instead, its worth it for the two bonus tracks, they both rock hard. I wish they had put them on the album, they would have fit in nicely I think. It was only 3 bucks more for the cd/dvd anyway, I wasnt going to buy it until i saw the bonus tracks were included, well worth it.
The bands website has relaunched as well, all 6 chapters are done, it was a very cool lead up to the album release i thought.

id argue some more but i dont want to risk a stabbing in the face, seeing as your such a cold blooded killer and a rock star to boot, how do you even find the time to post here with all the recording, touring and killing sprees????
