I haven't listened to the entire album yet. From what I've heard, it sounds pretty .....blah. My brother, who is a big OLP fan, told me that he listened to it online and that I shouldn't waste my time listening to the whole thing.
I've only seen OLP live one time and they (Raine in particular) weren't all that great. Maybe I caught them on one of their off nights, although I've heard from several people that they have quite a few of them. :what
I remembered they performed Dreamland at the Festival of Lights back in '08. Not sure if it was a regular occurrence over the last year or so.
Yeah I've heard mixed reviews on it. I guess when a band has such a long break between albums, nothing short of perfection should be expected. This of course is not perfection but I personally love it.
I am scratching my head about the bonus tracks not being part of the original album though. 'Time Bomb' in particular is one of the strongest tracks on the album.
'Monkey Brains' live is what I am living for right now! Can't wait for the tour, hoping for at least 2 nights in Vancouver.

i wasnt expecting perfection, but a strong album with tight songs, and thats exactely what we got.
im still unsure why Time Bomb never made the final cut as well, it would have slotted in nicely on the second half of the album. but at least they put it out, so cant complain too much.
monkey brains rocks live, definitely go see them on this tour new dates keep popping up, im still waiting on something in my driving range to pop up
I used to love OLP to the point where 4 friends and I had a band that did OLP covers when they were hot in Buffalo. We stopped after Gravity because we saw the writing on the wall, and could see the band was losing it's luster and appeal.
I bought the album with high hopes, but frankly I think the mix is terrible and the vocals are low. I also think it is a sad sign that my iPod recognizes the album as "pop."
As far as people who have been making comments about their live act, and Raine in particular....I have seen them so hit or miss with his vocals, either being amazing or very bland and off key at times. The latter has been happening much more. He seems unmotivated. The last great tour I remember them having was Spiritual. Come to think of it...thats when Mike Turner left....

I was never a big OLP fan, but Spiritual Machines was a very good album. Mike Turner's guitar work was the only thing that made those guys interesting in my opinion. His departure ripped a huge hole in their sound, and their music has been pretty bland ever since.

This. I know he left because of "creative differences," but from what I can gather he left because he wasn't a fan of drop-D tuning. Either way, since his departure the only Our Lady Peace song I've really liked has been "Bring Back the Sun"...and he plays on it!

The Toronto quartet will spend two nights in cities across the country, which will see them play all of 1997's Clumsy on the first evening and 2000's Spiritual Machines on the second night in select cities. Both nights will also contain a separate set with additional Our Lady Peace songs from the band's other records.
I was a big OLP fan back in the day but they lost me after Mike Turner left. I haven't seen them live in years but I think I may have to get some tickets to the Spiritual Machine night at Massey Hall. I've heard a couple of songs from Burn Burn and I must say I don't mind them. I'll have to check out the rest of the album as well.
The Hip really should do something like this for their next tour.
I've followed OLP the past 5 years or so, but have kind of "scaled back" on my fandom, from driving anywhere within 2 hours of Buffalo to see them, to only catching them when they come around.
When I heard about this, I was all over it! I got my Spiritual Tickets presale today, and I may still decide to go the Clumsy show as well. I think this is awesome! Way to be 2 set trend setters Hip!!
I would buy tickets to go see Spiritual Machines in Halifax, but it looks like it is just going to be a normal OLP concert. I'm sure it would be heavy on Clumsy / Spiritual Machines material though....
Hmmm...
Tough choice. I'll decide later.
That'd be cool. I wouldn't mind going to either of those nights. If I lived in Canada...
An Evening with OLP loving it..here's the site for all the details..

I paid $200 bucks for the VIP Spiritual Machines package, gonna be kick ass..cant wait to meet the band.
From the look of it on the OLP site bonner, Halifax is only getting one show, so its Clumsy or nothing.. the second set will be well mixed so not sure what you're complaining about. I know you'd prefer the Spiritual Machines show, but I dont see a second show which is strange, but I just took a second look and some cities are only getting one show so you have to take what you're given unfortunatley.
Well, I definitely haven't been a fan of OLP in years (and don't like the new album outside of 'Monkey Brains') but I just found out about this tour and grabbed a third row centre seat for a Spiritual Machines gig, the last show of the tour here in Victoria! I've always loved this album and can't wait to hear what they do with. Clumsy I'm not excited about enough to go see (the only song I love from that album is 4am and I've already see them play that) and I don't think I've ever seen any Spiritual Machines songs live.
Yes Halifax is only getting the "clumsy" show. I'd like to see them, but won't be going this time around. I've only seen OLP the once, opening for The Rolling Stones in '05 & i wasn't really impressed at all. I'm sure they'd be much better at one of their own arena headlining shows though. I should of went to see them when they played here at the Festival of Lights in '08, they played the night before The Hip, but i just went with 1-day pass to Collective Soul/Hip.
I'm so pumped for this. Got tix to the Vancouver Clumsy show. CAN'T WAIT!!!!
