Im surprised that on a Hip Fan site 4 people said that all the songs suck. Well I guess that album release note was wrong by saying that this album had something for everyone. I havent heard the album yet (im waiting) but it seems like Coffee Girl is going to be fantastic. I cant get the clip out of my head.

That is my vision of hell.

emptyin' slots, workin' like a ghost, I
move through huge rooms with no windows and
no Gulf of Mexico
That makes a lot more sense, actually.
I haven't listened to them all yet but ... Coffee Girl is really cool. Alot of production and I'm certainly hoping some of it makes a stage appearance. Including the trumpet! Morning Moon still rocks!
tragicallysteve Wrote:"You better watch yourself", I said to a toasted western.
Best lyric in the history of music
I missed this lyric, what song is it from?

It's from Queen of the Furrows. 2nd verse. 1:09 mark. It's actually, "'Watch yourself', I say to my toasted westerns." Practically the same thing, but I would hate to misuse quotation marks.
Thanks! Very cool. :thumb:
I heard Morning Moon on Q107 on the way home from my buddys.. SOUNDS SOOOO MUCH BETTER than on the website/facebook. Cant wait for the real album quality

Queen of the Furrows is now undisputedely my favourite song on the album.. probably makes my top 5 Hip songs of all time.. the melody and lyrics are just stabbing my heart right now.
Coffee Girl hit me first as the best quiet song on the record, but then again, Frozen In My Tracks is such a grinder of a track. It starts out so quiet and unassuming, and when it lets rip it really goes.
Put me down for The Depression Suite. I just love the way it builds to that key change and those emotional strings with the lyric "and I'm thinking just in passing, what if this song does nothing, what if this song does nothing"
I keep hearing that song over and over in my head as I'm trying to fall sleep...it's honestly keeping me up. I love when that happens.
Speed River is a close second though...it's damn catchy too.
I can't believe "Honey, Please" has more votes than...well, anything really. Frankly I can't believe it has any votes at all - it's the one throwaway song on this album as far as I'm concerned, which is a shame because it comes at such a crucial point and kind of messes up the flow of the first half.

I originally felt the same way, but I've gone jogging a few times while listening to this song and it really gets me going. A complete 180 for me...I love this song.
yeahh i actually like honey, please theres nothing about it i really dont like. flows well. the solo section really reminds me of the emperor penguin solo. same sorta downward chord progression with a nice slide solo. then again, this is coming from a guy who doesnt like queen of the furrows all that much. different strokes for different folks.
