I just want to thank this band for: an awesome new album, for all your hard work entertaining all us fans over the last year. Also for thinking about our environment, your dedication to your fans, for all the awesome covers(Substitute + Train in Vain my favs).Thank You for letting me come to your show and letting me tape. Thx for endorsing all your fan web sights that bring us all closer 2gether.Thank you for being so hospitable when we all approach you after a show and you still give us the time of day,but most importantly for me thank you for being music lovers! Peace.V
My sentiments exactly. Thank you Boys!
Cheers to that, and many more great albums and tours to come!
Nicely put :thumb:
Couldn't agree more.
So many great memories from this tour... thanks so much guys!
Who the hell plays a show in a town that's probably never had a real big concert; plays in a club that is essentially a warehouse; and keeps the crowd in a frenzy for 90 minutes?
The Hip. No other band takes those kinds of chances and The Hip do it on a regular basis.
Hogansburg/Akwasasne was great and to say the crowd was enthusiastic would be a huge understatement.
I echo what everyone else is saying - THANKS for a great tour and a fabulous World Container.
I've been to a lot of concerts, and I can say that without a shadow of a doubt, this last tour was by far the best. Thanks.
Good sets lists, meh set lists. Great energy, meh energy. Great crowds, jerkass crowds. No good albums since blah blah.
Whatever! All that discussion fodder aside, a great album supported by an AMAZING tour. The boys are still relevant, still kick ass, and still respect their fans. That's why they'll always be our family band.
Thanks boys!
LOVE. To me it's about love.
The other day I showed my "life partner" the photo of the Hip outside the CBC with that guys family. I was telling her how awesome that was. How no other band in the world is so kind to their fans. She said "They're Canadians, they are all nice." I told her that was just a myth. Yes, Canadians in general are more polite then Americans but the Hip are more then just nice. They understand.
I hate to sound like an old hippie but it's about the love. Yeah, we love them. The real power comes from the fact that they love us. That love shines through every time they play to a room of 300 people or 3000 people.
Thanks for the love boys. I'll see ya next time around.
I consider myself proof that an established veteran band can still bring in new lifelong fans no matter how far along in their career they are.
Hipeponymous grabbed my attention as I began to explore the hip's impressive sonic soundscape. It encouraged me to get the albums off my brothers and i've never looked back.
I saw them for the first time at the Stratford Music Festival in Sept of 2006 and was blown away. 5 live shows in a 5 month span (Stratford, Horseshoe, Phoenix, Oshawa, ACC) over the WC tour and I have become a fan for life. I may be late to the party, but I'm here til the end.
Thank you to Gord D, Gord S, Paul, Rob and Johnny for making it all possible. Thank you to MAv for his dedication to the site, to the tapers who bring us so many great moments and to the fans that make every concert an experience like no other.
See you next time around
I agree with all the sentiments here! :thumb:
Thanks to the band for a fantastic tour and album! The biggest thanks (from me at least) is for coming over to Europe again this year, so I could really appreciate the live experience as more of a hardcore fan. I had a great time on the tour, made some great friends and felt very privileged to be there.
I'm looking forward to the next one (I hope I can come to you next time though 8))
