Not at all.

Great! I just purchased it for my Boyfriend's 11 year old Daughter for her Birthday/Christmas present. I hope she likes it.
i've never understood the hysteria over this game. i'd much rather play the real thing. yes, its alot more effort, but once you've mastered a song, its incredible to play it live.
One activity is playing a video game, one is learning a fulfilling skill with an incredibly steep learning curve. One's brainless fun, the other's not brainless and often frustrating. Apples and ornages, I think.

That being said, I have stated after wasting many-an-hour playing GH, "why aren't I using this time and energy to learn some new chords on my REAL guitar."

Well, I supoose that makes sense...but:

that is what I was getting at.

I've certainly wasted some hours playing video games -- racing games, combat games, etc.

But the thing is, I simply can't go out and buy a McLaren F1 GTR and red-line that puppy down city expressways. And I don't ever expect to be lauching grenades at alien life forms until they blast me with plasma cannons, then expect to be "reborn" in 3......2.......1......

But I can sit there with guitar in hand and muddle through open tunings for hours on end, and eventually turn disjunct chord phrasings and pathetic muted notes into a recognizeble songs.

Sure -- it takes dedication, and it is often frustrating. But I'll tell you this: I've never been as dedicated or frustrated by playing guitar as I have playing certain video games. And I've never felt nearly as gratified by mastering a video game as I have by learning to play a favorite song note-by-note, either.
i would go with Meridian, Poets, Lonely End Of The Rink, or The Darkest One.
Well put THE!
RINK would be a blast !!

With your racing game analogy you could argue you could spend those hours you've wasted playing driving games to drive a real car and becoming a better driver.

However like GH driving games are fun and you can spend hours and hours learning to play a real guitar and it's still unlikely you'll make a living from it much less your ever going to performing on stage at a huge stadium in a world famous band.
Guitar Hero is abit of fun you can have with some mates and pretend to be a rock star.
I lucked out and found a copy of GH3 for the Wii for my kids(just for the kids of course, I won't play it............ :rollSmile

Anyways, it looks like fun, and that's all video games are supposed to be. Besides, I already do play guitar but I'll never be good enough to get on stage and challenge Slash...now I can!! Er I mean now my kids can....... :thumb:
Is anyone interested in getting a skin for your guitar that is of the greatest band in the world.....of course the Tragically Hip.. :thumb: I have someone who will create it for us if we can get a few. It goes on your 360 and I think it will work for Wii and most likely PS3...Let me know if your interested
Sign me up for 3 wii THC skins! Heck yes...
Ok I actually have to put a design to it so if you have ideas what you would like send me a message :thumb:
guitar hero is dying....Rock Band is THE MUSIC game folks...bought it on release day in US (comes out here in Can this week) and it's amazing!!! One interesting note....when you go to customize your clothing, you can pick a pair of pants called "Tragically Hipsters" for female characters.... not sure of any connection to our beloved boys, but perhaps some hip will show up on the downloadable content list sometime in the near future.
The design is finished have a look. If you are interested just send me a PM and I can give you details on how to contact the company that is making it for me. He can do it for all platforms. (Wii, 360,PS3)

Wow, that's very cool! Will it fit a regular guitar or only those small GH game guitars?
