I got a phone call from a friend who wouldn't lie, telling me that they said on 97.3 that Fredericton is now the only show still on in the maritimes, and that Saint John and Halifax have been cancelled.
What the hell is going on?
I am so disappointed...
Just got off the phone with 97.3 The Wave...and she said according to the email that she's looking at right now... The Hip in Halifax has been cancelled as well.
WTF is going on here. It can't be because of poor sales. I mean there are still approx. 4 months before either of these shows. Maybe the band is being booked for somewhere more profitable. Either way, this sucks hard!
I du know...this sounds extremely....un-Hip
we've waited so long...
and now this.

WOW!!! I'm glad I didn't book a flight and decide to come. I was heavily thinking about it and was going to make my decison this week.
Do you think maybe they're planning 1 BIG show for the region? Maybe Magnetic Hill or Citadel Hill? Here's hoping.
I'd prefer two nights at the Cunard Centre in Halifax.
But that won't happen.
I feel bad you guys out there..this is shitty news...
Maybe with the money we get back for these tix... we should try and take the ferry up to St. John's?
I'm actually serious.

just fly out west and see them in Kelowna

Man, that really sucks. Even though I am miles away I feel your pain.
I just don't get it.
One show being niched... hard to take.
But two?
I honestly am speechless.
There HAS to be a good reason.
For me, the reason it sucks the most is because there was so much talk about how the maritimes gets the shaft... and I tried to defend the Hip and their management because I knew that all in good time would we see an East Coast tour.
I will now officially say for the first time: the east coast has gotten a massive shaft.
