Weddings
#1

As of today, July 15th, two of my best friends are officially off the market. Such events promt me to ask, in your opinion, what is the best wedding song -- that is, first dance as man and wife? My vote is a toss up between three: The Hip - Flamenco, Ben Folds - The Luckiest and Tom Waits - Little Trip to Heaven on the Wings of Your Love. Thoughts?

I think the lovely nurse and I are going to have Lost Together as our first husband and wife song.

For the boss and I it was Jaimie Cullum's version of 'Everlasting Love'

Still picking up the elderly from the floor, still dealing with the drunks, now wrestling seals and posting it on twitter.. @richardilderton
'Whoops' is not a word the patient wants to hear...apparently

At the wedding I was at yesterday I called dibs on having "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" sang during the actual ceremony.

I like "Lost Together' as a first dance. "I Can Feel It" by Sloan maybe.

Cheers,

Pat

Someone already said Lost Together by Blue Rodeo:

This was used at our friends' wedding last summer and it had a group of about 20 of us lining the dance floor belting out the chorus and it gave me serious shivers up and down my spine. Then some other friends used it as the final song of the night at their wedding in Philadelphia, and it was just the Canadians huddled in a circle with the groom (Canadian) and the bride (not so much) singing it at the top of our lungs. It was pure magic.

Ours was Open Window by Sarah Harmer, sung live by Martina Sorbara, and it was pretty damn special too. (We closed out the night with Blow at High Dough and nearly caved the place in).

Lost together probably would've been one of your songs, but I had already had it as a "special" song with another girl, just wouldn't have been right
