The best part is Edge throwing back a few after Bono said he didn't feel like Bad or Streets were "complete" songs in a lyrical sense. LOL

10.26.07 Washington DC
10.19.09 Washington DC
7.30.11 Buffalo
11.10.12 NYC

Yea, that was funny. Even the host was saying "you're out of your mind!" Bono seems to be really critical of himself, which is normal for most artists and writers. But I agree with Edge and the host on this one. Those songs are masterpieces.

Looks like No Line on the Horizon is getting the 10th Anniversary vinyl treatment! Possibly my fav U2 album !

It's criminally underrated. I think it gets a lot of flak from fans because of the god-awful "Get On Your Boots", which is arguably the worst thing they've ever recorded. Remove that song from the track list and that album is a U2 classic. No Line, Magnificent, Moment of Surrender, Unknown Caller, Fez-Being Born, Breathe, Cedars of Lebanon...all great songs.

The release of "Boots" absolutely sunk the album and negatively coloured people's perceptions. What a mess that song is! Almost all the other songs you listed above are top tier U2. I've always found the title track to be a bit baffling because while it has such great, punchy verses, the chorus falls flat with the absence of a hook. I like the song but I'm surprised that chorus didn't warrant a little more effort.

Completely agree regarding No Line, although I think that beautiful bridge makes up for it. The album version is decent, but that song was a lot punchier when they did it live. For example, check out this great version from Sheffield 2009. As I mentioned, just listen to the bridge at around the 2:15 mark. The song immediately ascends to another level. Fuckin' goosebumps every time.

I think "Get On Your Boots" is underrated itself - and while I wouldn't call NLOTH my favourite U2 album it's absolutely in the top three, and probably #2 after Achtung Baby. It's so frigging good. I listened to it non-stop for about two years following its release, and I still wish the 360 tour had given it more of its due.

That bridge is fantastic! The whole song had a lot more kick to when played live. I can't believe that not a single song from that album made an appearance on the most recent tour. What a shame.

It's a schizophrenic song to me. It feels like it was patched together from different sounds in the studio and never really congealed. I also dislike the title of the song, a superficial reason for slightling the song, but real for me nonetheless. Even those that see the appeal in the song would probably agree that it was not the right choice for the first single. I think it turned too many people off who might have given the album a listen otherwise. Then again U2 has picked some odd first singles over the years, e.g. "The Fly" off Achtung - great album track, but the 4th or 5th best song on that album.
