I bought one of these for taping shows , anyone have any experience with these ? I need to buy a mic, but don't know which one to get, any advice as to which are the best ? I'm going to see Garnet Rogers (folk singer) tomorrow night , so I want to get a mic by then, i've heard binaurals are good . Does anyone know what brand is decent or even where to pick some up ? Future Shop and A&B sound have nothing of the sort. Any advice/tips or opinions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I doubt that you'll be able to get mics between now and tomorrow night; but I'm not familiar with the Calgary marketplace. (that's where you are, aren't you?)
I'd suggest searching www.archive.org's collection of boots, and compare the recordings you to their equipment. As well, the forum that scottitude mentioned is great.
IMO, mics are the most important part of audio recording, so it's wise to do your research.
[edited to add]
Since you cannot adjust the record level on the device you purchased, mics will be even more important.

Thanks alot Guys I appreciate it !! Thanks for the links ! Yeah Chris, i'm in Calgary, as for the Record level , I have two options one setting for quiet settings, (talking normal volume ) and one for loud ( rock concerts etc..) Sony descriptions, so i'll throw on the loud setting, even if it is a folk artist. I'm gonna have to go deep to find something decent in the mic category, i'll scour the city, tomorrow night may be shot but he plays again on Tuesday in another location in the city, so I have the weekend to come up with something , hopefully. Thanks again for the input !! Appreciate it very much . :thumb:

I have a fairly new pair of low cost core sound cardiods with low sens that I am looking to sell because I upgraded to the higher end version. If any one is interested I would put them on ebay for you at a reduced price.
I used them with a mini disc and they gave me pretty good recordings. I guess I could make a sound clip available if you want.
