I think Gord has a lifetime of observations & impressions of his friends & loved ones stored up & I CAN'T WAIT to read them all, lol. Hear them all, because his phrasing & timing when he sings or reads his own work is a whole 'nother layer of revelation. I'm so happy for him that he was able to get this out to us, & very excited as a fan.

My hopes for this:
1: The "B's" are The Boston Bruins
2: You is Bobby Orr
3: The song is more like Lonely End of the Rink than Fireworks (I never snuck out to the washroom during Fireworks - EDIT - I never snuck out during Rink, damnit).

Better odds have the "you" being one of his brothers. I'm still okay with that. But I still want to feel the same was I do during Lonely End (as a former goaltender, always looking up to see my old man away from the crowd in the stands).

I think so. If I remember correctly, he received his diagnosis near the end of 2015? I believe Man Machine Poem was already in the can by that point, so this one was definitely recorded afterwards.

Obviously very happy for this, specially traveling far from home it brought me back to Canada in an instant. My melancholic side, however, offered up an abrupt dose of measure and back on the ground I was. Can't wait to consume this effort by Mr. Downie and of course Drew's contributions. Its a good day.

Started my new radio gig in Calgary 2 weeks ago. I had to write my first blog post today for the website...it was a no-brainer.

These 23 tracks were knocked out over the course of 8 days so I would expect fairly sparse arrangements on most, especially if it was just Gord and Kevin in the studio. Looking forward to it!

I wonder if the cover art was painted by Gord? I believe he did the Grand Bounce.
