Edgefest 2009
#1

Is it just me or does it get worse every year? Save for a few good bands this thing isnt what it used to be. Its unfortunate cause this country could really use some kick ass summer festivals, why should Europe have all the fun? What is it with this country, doesnt anyone like to rock?

Anyway FYI:

2009 - June 20, Downsview Park

AFI
Alexisonfire
Arkells
Beast
Billy Talent
Clothes Make The Man
Dean Lickyer
Dinosaur Bones
Flash Lightnin'
k-os
La Casa Muerte
Metric
The Midway State
Moneen
Still Life Still
The Stills
The Waking Eyes

Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”

AFI? Are they still around?
I remember when they were the most uncool band in high school.

I'd go see the arkells and k-os (i also realize k-os is a completely different style of music that attracts people to the hip / the base)

Shitty line up.

I can't wait to see the festival of lights lineup this year.
I'm really gunning for Seether and other Nickelback-ish bands.

I just discovered the Arkells and they're fantastic. K-os is equally awesome. I'm not really big on hip-hop at all, but K-os incorporates so many different styles into his music, it's impossible to classify him into one genre. Rock, pop, soul, hip-hop, funk...the dude does it all.

I have really got into Alexisonfire lately. It seems to be all I can play on the ride to my hockey games. Puts my mind in a great place! I thought Crisis was fantastic and I am very excited to hear their new album that is supposed to be out in May.

I also really like City and Colour since I first listened to them via Gord in Sleeping Sickness. Much more chill than AOF, but great music.

I would like to see them live but on this side of the border, Warped Tour would be more ideal. I am really not a fan of that type of music (Warped Tour bands), but am just interested to see AOF live.
