It's not that i don't like Drew Carey, i just find him kind of annyoing..don't think he's great for the show..I was hoping for George Hamilton!! Tongue

actually, John O'Hurley would have been a good choice, and anybody is better than Rosie

Alright choice I guess if they have to replace him, but I still think they should've just ended the show permanently when Bob retired.

Probably as good a choice as any... though I can't picture the ladies kissing him on the cheek like they did with Barker. Bob was the man.

Yes, I do think John O'Hurley would have been a better choice. He has so much more charisma than Drew Carey. His show wasn't terrible (though they should have ended it long before he "sprained his penis"), but I always thought he was awful on Whose Line. The man cannot improv at all.

I agree. The producers will hire comedy writers and try to make the show funny. The reason the show worked for so long was 50% audience, 25% Bob and 25% nostalgia.

During the height of the cold war the show was our Capitalist security blanket. The show sold a lifestyle. I don't think the new incarnation will last. The new show will stand for 21st century materialism and Drew Cary. His drunk suicidal Republican sthick wore thin years ago. O'Hurley would of brought his humor and charm. Carey only brings his Buddy Holly glasses.

I dont really watch TPIR anymore, but I definitely wont be now. Not that I have a hate on for Drew, but to me TPIR just isnt TPIR without Bob..it just wont be the same. I used to watch it alot when I was a kid, my mom really liked the show.

Yeah, I think I'll make this call after I've seen Drew host a few times. Bob and TPIR were fixtures of my weekday summer mornings when I was a kid.

I too will pass judgement after I see a few episodes...I'm sure it'll be the same ol' show and DC will do a great job.

Summer mornings for me didn't start until noon after I had watched the showcase showdown. I consider myself to be a HUGE fan of TPIR and I have seen hundreds of episodes if not thousands in my 29 years and I can only say that I have seen 1 perfect show. I saw lots of double showcase winners (guessing less than $250 difference on your showcase, it used to be a $100 difference) and I even saw an episode where both people had the exact same price difference on their showcases and each person won...now that's exciting tv!!

Bob, your leathery skin, love of animals, US Armed Servicemen and hot girls in skimpy clothing will be sadly missed.
