Opiated, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I looked after a rabbit for someone for several weeks, and I couldn't get over what a smart little guy he was. They really are characters.

The only bad thing about having pets is they don't live nearly as long as we want them to. I wish you only the best memories of your little pal. I know this is a tough time for you.

Sorry Opiated. I got my first dog 6 months ago, and can completely understand what you are feeling. I never understood how bonded one could get with an animal until I got my dog. He's seriously like my best friend. I can imagine that the grief is very real. Sorry dude.

Sorry to hear about your bunny. Currenlty I have fish and a cat who is 15 and not doing so well. I was thinking about getting a bunny after - well you know.

Are rabbits as independant as cats? Does the litter smell as bad as a cats? I work a lot of hours and sometimes, I dont get home to 10pm. Do you think a rabbit would be suitable for someone like me?

rabbits can be as independant...they're really really smart...if you clean the litter daily, then you shouldn't notice much of a smell...as long as you give him/her some love when you get home....i'm not sure how hard they are to litter train though...mine already was...but she was only four months when i got her....very lovely animals...and although mine died young, they can live up to 12 - 15 years...i don't suggest giving them lettuce though, as they can get the runs quite easily...bunky loved bananna and carrots....any more questions, feel free to PM me!!
