Yeah, i take back everything I said about last night's show! Tonight's was awesome! Gord was definitely more engaged tonight, or maybe it was just my being closer and being able to see it.

Gems last night was great, but live Fire in the Hole is always awesome. So is Bones. I was at the stage, just to left. I taped the songs with Sarah, so i'll get it up on youtube at some point.

Wow, i was expecting a boring, same 'ol show. Don't give up on these guys yet. You just never knew what type of a show you're going to get.

Plus, i thought it was going to take an hour to get out of the parking lot and back on the highway, and it only took 30 mins! :thumb:

Not trying to be a downer, but... why was this so much crazier and better than the last couple shows? How was it not the same old show? Because they played Fire in the Hole instead of Gems? That's one song different, and Sarah Harmer guesting. Maybe I'm fussy, but this is not even close to enough to get me wanting to see shows again. Remember 2006-2009 when every show had numerous unique different songs, show after show? That wasn't long enough ago for me to forget. 2011 and 2012 so far have been the definition of "greatest hits" top to bottom. They haven't even been switching up which hits they're playing either. No reason they can't play Scared, 38 Years Old, Gus, Nautical Disaster, Darkest One, Kids Don't Get it, Fully Completely, Three Pistols, Fiddler's Green, Lonely End of the Rink, and many more here and there.

And then there's all the other amazing fan faves. El Dorado, Yawning or Snarling, Emperor Penguin, Titanic Terrarium, Don't Wake Daddy, Boots or Hearts, etc.
Sorry, this band has WAY too many great songs to be playing sets like the past year. It's honestly a fucking joke.

The people going to these types (the 2011/2012 festival type) of shows aren't going to the show to hear non-radio songs. They're going to the show to get drunk and celebrate Canada Day by singing along to those songs they've heard on their rock station a million times.

I think the boys know the type of show they have to play according to the type of crowd attending. I think (at least i hope) they'll go back to the less "greatest hits" show if they get back into the theatres.

Well put TG. Also, if anyone takes the time to listen to Paul Langois's interview from a few days ago, it sheds some insight on why the setlists are not too diverse. I'm officially hopping off the "rag on the band of boring setlists" campaign...lol. Bring on Windsor!

One hundred percent correct. In a tour situation there will be 6-8 songs off the new release. Add a number of songs from a hits show. That leaves room for a few gems that will rotate in and out over a 3-4 show rotation. Question is what gems will be performed.

As for the Hip/Sarah Harmer video, well, that's still uploading, but I had a look, and apparently you can't get good sound when you're standing right beside the speakers. Who knew?!

Watch your ears! (the version further below is much better)

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

Can't believe nobody's mentioned that Mr. Langois sang the third verse of wheat kings.

New song, also. Anyone else taken note of how "theatrical" the new songs (especially MMP and Attawaspikat) sound? Me likey.
