Wow.

I knew she was a mess, but that is somewhat shocking.

She certainly packed a lot of drama into those 39 years.

I never liked her but 39 is far too young to die at.

I am no fan of Anna but I feel sorry for her. Her husband/lawyer/pimp took every advantage of her that he could.

Sort of like a 20 year old stripper taking advantage of an 86 year old man. Errrrrr, nevermind.

Confusedhock:

It's sad news when anybody dies (well, unless they are rapists or murderers) but, .......ok. I'm sure Anna Nicole married a 300 year old man because she "loved" him. Yeah, that was the reason. :?

I had a sort of shocking thought while reading about Smith's death. What if, in 40 yrs or so, she becomes a pop icon like Marilyn Munroe? What if my grand-daughter (assuming I have one) dresses like and emulates Anna Nicole Smith?

Holy shit.

And the moral of the story, children, is that money can't buy happiness.

You certainly can't use it to buy your way out of being terminally messed up. I've got no time at all for Anna Nicole Smith as a celebrity, but this is sad. Her whole life was sad. Tragic in the literary sense.

And I'm with Sam: it's scary to think that some people will see her as a role model.

Tragic yes...but I can't say I'm surprised. When your life is one train wreck after another it must take a toll.

A person died.

Should people care when you die? Are you a big deal?
