Thanks to the number of times I've seen/heard that damn "This is Our Country" commercial during the NFL playoffs so far, I've had enough Mellencamp to last me this lifetime and the next.

Questionable marketing strategy -- annoy even those who might BUY the record by bombarding them with one of the songs in car advertisements.

I'm sure GM helped offset any potential financial losses though :roll:

that REALLY pisses me off that he did that with the commercial..he was always so anti-establishment and against all that corporate bullshit...still..i do like his stuff, but i'm a little tainted in my view of him right now

I'm hoping that, at the very least, Mellencamp is a loyal customer of Chevy/GM. If he's endorsing a product which he feels holds value, then I'm a touch less annoyed.

Either way, I kinda like the sound of the new album. Granted, I just like Mellencamp a whole hell of a lot. :thumb:
