....And Grace Too.
Sorry for a stupid thread but Im bored so wanted to share the story about the song that got me hooked on the Hip.
Ive always heard of the Hip and even heard them but really never gave it much thought. I went to school in upstate NY on a hockey scholarship in 1995 so of course most of my teammates were Canadian. So the after hour parties usually ended up at an apartment of one of the Canadians on the team. So one drunken night they put in Day for Night and of course the first song is And Grace Too. Its so dark and ambient. To this day I still remember the feeling of hearing that song. Not sure if any of you read that thread about Rory and trading boots. Rory said one of his motivating factor for trading was the hope that whoever was the recipient of his shows would get the same feeling he got when he got his first shows. Well the feel is universal and if a song talks to you its the best experience. So after hearing And Grace Too I went out the next day and bought Day for Night. My opinion of DfN is its more alternative than the previous albums with a darker edge to it. Who produced it? Would of loved to be a fly on the wall for that one.
And out of the Hip catalog its my fav album even though my mood can determine which album I prefer on that given day.
Also from looking at the setlist so far this tour it isnt getting much play
So anyway so for the stupid thread and story.
