Those of us in London, and very (and I mean very) close by cities. Today is most likely a SNOW DAY!!!
Yesterday and overnight last night we got about 60cm of snow, and it's still coming down at about 2cm an hour, and is supposed to be coming down all day.
I got the day off work, as did most people I have talked to. Fanshwe College and UWO are both closed, The City Buses arent even running, I dont think I have ever seen them not running.
There was an OPP guy on the news this morning who said that they responded to 223 accidents over night!!!
I think the craziest thing about this is that the streamer of snow that went over us, wasn't very big. I've heard of cities as close as 45 minutes away that didn't get any snow at all. Hamilton, Toronto, Niagara, all about 2 hors away, no snow!!

And this is where working from home sucks. I was at my desk at 8 am.
The shape of the future for a lot of people ... even if I didn't work from home, I'd be expected to dial in and work from home today.

Today was crazy! I think my arms are going to fall off from all the shovelling I did today. Alot of my neighbours in my apartment building are elderly so I helped to shovel them out as well as myself, Im whipped.
I can't remember snow like this in London, at least not all in one day. I was expecting my wife to show up at my work with the car last nite, instead she's waiting by the door with my snow boots in hand, we had a nice walk home, thankfully I live real close to work. And I dont have to work today...
Snow days do rule!! :jump :jump

I don't have pictures, but they are fairly similar to Alex's
crazy snow here in London...
even though it's a huge inconvenience, the snow sure does make it look like winter!

Last time was 1976 or thereabouts. We got a few snow days out of that one -- the power was out and they called out the army.
That's the last snow day I remember in London.
It was 2 years before I was born, Im sorry I missed it..

It was definitely a crazy day. I am soo happ to have had the day off, I had an exam scheduled and had a paper due. The paper is now done, and I know i'll nail the exam. I live right by masonville mall, and walked over to buy a snow shovel. At 11:00 there were maybe 25% of the stores open, and there was liek no one in the mall. It was weird seeing the parking lot and corridors of the mall completely empty.
As I walked through the drifts I started humming "the snow is so, mercyless, on poor old, London..."
