As I Seinfeld fan, I am really in awe.
Oh well... I've always found Kramer overrated. George is/was the best.
But anyways, when I heard about this, I thought it couldn't be that bad, until I saw this video.

I'm a little suspicious of the editing on this video. It starts with Richards blowing up, and cuts out the context leading up to it.
Why?

Witnesses say there was just a group of people talking, and Richard's flipped out. Maybe someone just started recording when he started going off. And I really don't think you can argue that what he said was taken out of context.....

If you think they just started recording at the instant he went off, by some wild coincidence, you need your head checked.
Whether anything was audible on the tape before that point, what exactly was said, etc., are open questions. Whether the editing conceals a grave insult tossed his way, whether he could find some excuse, well, I don't much care and I'm not drawing conclusions one way or the other.
I'm not going to allow myself to be led around by the nose by someone with a videoclip and an agenda, thanks. If that works for you, though, then by all means have fun.

I really don't think whomever taped this has an agenda against Michael Richards; maybe they just have a problem with him saying "Shut up! Fifty years ago we‘d have you upside down with a f------ fork up your a--." and then yelling the N-word at two black audience members repeatedly. Maybe I'm misinterpretting your post, but to me, saying that the taper has an agenda makes me feel like you think Richards is a victim of situation, which I can't agree with at all.

I guess you missed the "your video will play after the commercial" part, huh? Every click through to that video is money in somebody's pocket. That somebody has a vested interest in creating the biggest controversy they can and taking advantage of the general willingness to rush to judgment.

Get real. This would have faded from notice faster than a K-Fed album if it weren't for its spread through blogs and message boards -- good old viral marketing. It's not a big or important incident. The controversy is the product of people deliberately attracting notice to it.
What I'm saying, in short, is this: someone wants me to get excited, but I'm not going to. If you like being led by the nose, fine.
