Hey gang....
So I've been fortunate enough to get the go ahead from my Canadian Art History Prof to do a project featuring painters, places and idea referenced in Hip tunes...The deal is, I've gotta design an imaginary gallery featuring Canadian artists across the board...I was thinking of featuring one painting from each record...11 paintings in total...Some of them are easier than others...A Tom Thomson painting for Road Apples, an ocean painting from World Container...But for any of you lyric/art enthusiasts out there, I'm looking for yer help...Any ideas would be much appreciated...

If you include solo stuff, the ancient train and transient horse (and horses and trains from strippers' union) has an obvious connection to Alex Colville.

one more idea. if your school - University of Guelph has the following database ARTstor - you might get some image ideas there...

Yea, it's that one. I think it was out of 200 though. Still nice hanging on my wall with a nice frame to go with it.
I think there were a couple of people on here who had multiple copies when they came out. I was lucky enough just to get one!

Before you read this and think I’m nuts, this information comes as a byproduct of my mother being an art teacher, art lover, and dragging me to every gallery she could find. Second, my family is originally from Canada. Third I took numerous art and literary classes throughout college. If you need more info let me know.
For FC there must be a thousand things that you could use for Wheat Kings.
For DFN use Scared and find a Canadian artist who painted something related to the Holocaust or Nazi Germany. See Rochelle Rubinstein
For PP Len Harfield is a local Canadian artist who I know has painted images of Bobcaygeon
For M@W, i know many artists were very influenced by John Cage mentioned in Tiger the Lion, one Canadian who was is David Rokeby.
For IVL, Silver Jet references "Let us now praise famous men" a book that has greatly influenced many authors. For instance, famous Canadian short story author, Alice Munro. Who in turn has influenced her fair share of artists.
