That's the third school shooting this week.
I was watching CNN earlier. They were reporting school lockdowns due to weapons in Las Vegas, and dozed off. I woke up and this was on. Absolutely sickening. All this stuff + Dawson College. There needs to be more done for gun control, not just in the states, but also here.
My neighboring high school had two arrests made because two kids had made a comprehensive plan and a list.
Everything regarding this is disgusting.

Although unconfirmed, this incident involved a grown male non-Amish gunman. He had a wife and kids and really had nothing to do with this school except he lived nearby. Apparently he targeted female students only and called his wife while he was in the classroom speaking of "getting revenge for something that happend 20 years ago". All of this, I'm sure, will become more clear as hours go on.
It seems to be an unfortunate trend in society today to lash out in educational facilites. It used to be common for kids who were bullied to commit suicide because of it. Now it seems as though they've uped the ante. It's gotten to the point now where it's not uncommon at all. I don't know if tougher gun laws is the solution in this case. This one today was a complete random act. It is almost as though it's a monkey-see, monkey-do scenerio. With shootings like this being televised everytime they happen, it seems to plant a seed in potential or future killers that that is a reasonable and successful means of carrying out a murder suicide.
What makes these instances even more frightening is that the public is faced with situations where the killer does not value his/her own life and surrender is not an option. There is no deterrent that will help eliminate this threat. No law or bill that can be passed that will make it happen any less. Where there's a will, there's a way. And if you remove firearms from the equation, they'll just up the ante again. Sounds familiar, doesn't it. Kamakazis at Pearl Harbour? Suicide bombers in the Middle East and around the world...

I don't believe that will solve the problem. There are just too many sick and demented people and I don't think the gov't can prevent these things from happening. Maybe people need more guns so the victims would have a chance to defend themselves.[/quote]

not to make light of this sad situation, but all i can think of right now is Weird Al's Amish Paradise...and Gangsta's Paradise...at the same time...and the movie Dangerous Minds, somehow, they've all come together into something that really happened...it's fucked up.
