Bourbon St. North July 15
#1

Hi All,

Just to give anyone attending the Ste. Adele show a heads-up, I sent the venue this e-mail yesterday:

"Hello,

I have a question regarding cameras and video/audio equipment. The Tragically Hip encourage fans to record their live shows and to take still pictures of their concerts. I was wondering what your policy will be at the show and what the venue restrictions will be.

I would like to bring my digital camera, but if I will have problems with the Bourbon staff I'd rather just leave it at home.

Thank You
"

Their response:

"Sorry, no cameras.

Thank you for understanding
."

Bummer.

The e-mail addy is info@bourbonstreetclub.com if any are interested in directions, etc.

10 days to go!

Screw that. You won't have a problem bringing it in. Get MAv to clarify this for everyone.

Remember, at the end of the day, it is up to the venue to make the final decision. But I agree, send an email to thehip.com's email addie and see if you can get any clarification.

Has anyone been to this venue before? How many does it hold? Does anyone know what kind of atmosphere it will be?

Thanks,

Not sure how many it holds, but it gets pretty crowded considering it's an outdoor show. I've seen Blue Rodeo several times there but the last time the Hip was there the crowd was almost doubled.

There's usually a bar or 2 set up outside, and there is the main indoor bar that is usually open during the show if you need to get away from the crowd and have a seat. Make sure if you're attending you either in the front half of the crowd or to the sides, as they set up the soundboard and the equipment on a scaffold in the center rear area and could be a view obstruction. Hopefully they figure out a better way to place it this time around.

The atmosphere is pretty tame, there was no crowd-surfers or fights that I was aware of any time I've been there.

Just praying there's no rain.
