Okay, for anyone interested, here is a quick summary of places you could grab a bite to eat or have a few drinks, Most places are located between North Front Street (hwy 62) turn off from the 401, which I am certain most of you would be taking.
East Side Mario’s (Quinte Mall)
-located in the Quinte Mall right off the 401
-once on North Front Street Heading South, turn right on Bell Blvd, you can’t miss it, it will be on your right hand side connected to the Quinte Mall
-about a 5 minute drive to the Empire, too far to walk IMO (guessing 1/2hr walk)
Montanas (170 Bell Blvd)
-located on Bell Blvd, similar to above, turn right, go past the Quinte Mall and you will see the sign for it on your right hand side
-again, about a 5 minute drive to the Empire, 1/2hr walk
Boston Pizza (180 Bell Blvd)
-basically located right behind Montanas, see above
Red Rock Canyon (365 North Front St)
-South on North front, through one set of lights, will be on your left side (located in Bell Tower Plaza)
-Kelsey’s style restaurant, (haven’t been there in years myself do I have no critique)
-no patio
-4 minute drive, guessing 20 minute walk
Crabby Joes (305 North Front Street)
-just head south on North Front Street, through two sets of lights and it will be on your left (right beside a Ford Dealership)
-not the fastest service, but on okay place for a few drinks and finger foods
-about a 4 minute drive, guessing 20 minute walk to the Empire
Kelsey’s (170 North Front)
-head south on North Front St. through 2 sets of lights past McDonald’s, it will be on your right hand side
-typical Kelsey’s, very small outdoor patio
-about a 2 minute drive, 10 minute walk
Bohemian Penguin (399 Front Street)
-head south on North Front, beyond Kelsey’s, over a train Bridge, the main road curves left however keep right, go over the Moira River bridge, The Bohemian will basically be right in front of you
-no real parking at the restaurant, but parking is not far away either
-not the best “drinking place”, alright food but can be a bit expensive
-main benefit is that it is just around the corner from the Empire
Paulo’s ( 44 Bridge Street)
-Directions similar to Bohemian except, follw the main road to the left instead of going right, go over the bridge, through s sets of lights, third light is Bridge Street, Paulo’s is just around the corner to your right
-Good restaurant, but not a pub and beer style place, prices are moderate
-Probably a 5-7 minute walk to the theatre
Linguini’s (151 Pinnacle)
-same directions as Paulo’s however go through third set of lights past bridge, it will be on your left side just before 4th set of lights
-haven’t been there, but I have been told it is good, similar to Paulo’s
The Boathouse
-32 South Front St
-To complicated to give directions…..LOL (if interested look for it in the yellow pages and mapquest it)
-A good seafood place with a small patio right on the water overlooking the harbor
-Good place, but can be slow, and you have overshot the Empire. You would have to backtrack about 5 minute drive, ½ hr walk
That’s about all I can think of right now. Of course there are a lot of fast food places along North Front too.
Please take all directions and times with a grain of salt, I am “working” right now so I have done this pretty quickly……………
If anyone has any other questions or would like any other info, feel free to ask!
P.S. Jamsey B (you are talking about The Boathouse which I noted above) good place, but a little out of the way........
