I'm having a little fun with it... It'll be back online eventually... I tried an upgrade and it failed miserably. Now I am restoring it to the way it was before the upgrade.

And hey now! Whaddya know?!?! Everything is back to normal. Just like it was before I attempted the upgrade.
The tracker software is getting old, and it was only a beta when I installed it. As I figured that the site would die after a few weeks, I didn't bother to investigate how to upgrade, what maintenance would be required, etc. Now 18 months later I'm stuck. The newest version of the software will not upgrade from the version I'm running without erasing all of the accounts and torrents. My guess is that a MySQL / php expert could probably work with the databases to import our current users and torrents into the new site, but there aren't any guarantees. There is one Hipbaser who has helped in the past with these issues, but I don't want to burden him any more... so are there any other experts out there who can provide some technical advice?

It's an issue with the theme you've chosen... can you access the site at all? If so, change to the default theme. If not, post here and I'll look into it.
But what's up with hipbase as I haven't been getting response notification emails???

seems to be working alright now, changed the theme so hopefully that solves the problem
