iTunes Stats
#1

Have not seen this done anywhere on this forum, so I thought this could be interesting. For those of you who use iTunes, what are your stats?
I'm just curious to see how much music you have delicately and gingerly placed into iTunes' library.
What are your track "extremes"?

I'm at 8641 songs, 24.9 days, 48.85 GB of which the Hip are 179 songs, 13.6 hours and 1.09 GB.

Shortest track (actual music): 0:04
Longest track: 26:58

Still need to get all the Hip bootlegs on it. Dig out the archived CD's, convert the shns/flacs...damn, I need to quit my job. Confusedcratch:

/who the fu*k has time to listen to that?
//not me
///got bored one weekend and imported all my CD's
////hope you all don't mind the Fark slashies. I'm addicted.

Longest Track:

This is fun. And relistening to this version of Meridian gets me really wanting to find my copy of 9/30/1996 for a much longer version of Merdian, featuring so many different snipits of would be songs for Phantom Power.

Cheers

Nice, Chris!

...Reaches for a few random boots to import...to push into the lead...

Can't reliably do the play count, I just rebuilt my library last month (I aged a few eons (sp?) in the process)

On a side note has anyone checked out the iTunes art importer http://www.yvg.com/itunesartimporter.shtml
or the library updater http://itlu.ownz.ch/
I love the art importer (I'm severely anal about my tags and artwork), it queries Amazon for album covers. I've probably checked about 400 albums and have only had about a dozen or so not found.

Anyone have any other cool plug-ins that you use?

Cfern, you a big REM fan too I take it? I've got quite a bit of their stuff on mine as well. Seen them live a couple times, always been a big fan of their music. :thumb:

Much like you, I'm very anal about tags and tagging. This includes having all cover art and lyrics. I use a program called "pearLyrics" which searches a few of the popular lyrics sites and imports them into iTunes.

When I started with cover art there weren't any programs that would find it for you like there is now - so my friend Google Image search and I spent a lot of time together. A lot.

I also use a program called CoverFlow which - when you are listening to iTunes - visually flips through all of your cover art until it gets to the one associated with the file you are playing. Kinda silly, but I think it is pretty cool. Reminds me of when I used to flip through my old man's record collection when I was kid.

You know what? It always shocks me when I see how much REM I listen to because I don't even realize it. It sneaks up on me. Automatic For The People is one of my favourite albums of all time (provided Everybody Hurts is never played, talked about, or shown in the track listing) but I'm always surprised how much of their other stuff (except for the most recent album) sneaks into my playlists.
