If you were faced with the choice that you had to either be deaf or blind...what would it be? I often say I would choose to be blind because I couldn't stand not being able to experience music. Thankfully, I am not either, and I appreciate that everyday
Also, I can say music is my life in other ways also:
My husband and I own a music/dvd store..so literally it is my life
I've been singing for years, so music is special in that way also :thumb:
Excellent Topic!!!!! -Jen

music means a lot to me.. it's a big part of our family, my 2 eldest sons play the guitar pretty well, my husband plays the accordion, guitar, mouth organ, has his own choir and a sings in a band.
but.... it's not the most important thing in my life...
most important are the people I love..

Music means a lot to me. Like a lot of you have already mentioned, it can bring back specific memories of events or people or just be related to a period of time in my life. I listen to music almost constently throughout the day. I've played guitar for a big part of my life as well though I'm still no good.
The feeling that I get at a concert when the band is "on" and connectiong with each other and the crowd is undescribeable. It makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up and puts a huge smile on my face.
I really can't imagine my life without music. Well I could imagine it without a lot of the shitty, cookie cutter music that I listen to throughout the day at work on the radio like the Nickleback that's playing right now, but without good music life would be bland.
Music also means that I spend a lot of my money on things like cds and minidiscs not to mention concert tickets. In my mind it's all worth it though. :thumb:
Long live good music.

Music is the universal language of mankind
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
and
After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.
Aldous Huxley
I'll let the quotes speak for themselves.
