Notebook modem help
#1

Hey folks...

Getting my first laptop tomorrow, but it has a 56K modem in it. I want to switch it to accept cable. Is this difficult to do? What do I need? Any help is appreciated.

I assume by cable, you mean cable for internet. If so, the modem in your computer has nothing to do with it - it is strictly used for dial-up access. As long as your laptop has an ethernet connection (which most/all do) you'll be set. The ethernet cable runs from your computer to your router or cable modem.

Or you can go wireless if you computer has a wireless card, and you have a wireless router.

I hope that makes sense... if not, ask away.
