The only concert I saw this year was GWAR in November. That was... interesting, to say the least. I'm not a metal fan at all, so I really wasn't expecting to have strangers run up to me and punch me in the back of the head. Still, it was fun.

Hopefully my second concert of the year will be Clutch next Friday.

On second thought, do Las Vegas topless revue shows count as concerts? I saw one of those. I'd comment on it, but I was drunk and had been awake for three days at that point, so my only mental recollection of the show is BOOBS BOOBS BOOBS BOOBS and then passing out on the table.

It wasn't a good year for concerts for me, actually it was one of the worst in recent years...that said I did see the best show of my life and another amazing one so it wasn't all bad. But I missed out on Coldplay and Oasis this summer, I wasn't too happy about that. But here's the big 2 from this year..

The White Stripes-Toronto Sep 17/Molson Amp. Best live act I've ever seen! Jack blew me out of my seat with his guitar playing, the sound was amazing and so was the setlist, it was perfect.

Pearl Jam-London Sep 12/JLC. Pearl Jam in my hometown, what more could a guy ask for? It was my first time seeing them and they were amazing, I hope I can catch them again next year after the new album drops.

As for the rest, I saw Thornley twice back in August and Grady. That's all I can remember, I just woke up so my mind is hazy but like I said it was a bad year for me, I plan to make up for it next year with The Hip and Pearl Jam, I'd really like to catch the Foo Fighters too, if they are still touring.

Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”

The wallet was a little lighter this year, but I got a few in before going broke. I only saw 11 shows this year, my least amount since 2o00, however I did break the 100 mark at Pearl Jam in September.

Jan 26 - Rheostatics
Jan 27 - Metric/Uncut
Mar 6 - Wil
April 9 - Weakerthans/Constantines
June 9 - Most Serene Republic/Holy Fuck (NXNE)
June 10 - Uncut/Fembots/Magneta Lane (NXNE)
June 11 - Jack Kuerac Knapsack Band/Cuff the Duke/The Sadies (NXNE)
Sept 10 - Pearl Jam/Supersucker
Sept 12 - Matt Barber
Dec 3 - The Ladies and Gentlemen/Sue Is Fine.

Show of the Year is either Holy Fuck or the Rheos. While Holy Fuck blew me away, I'm pretty sure that Rheos show is in my top five of all time.

Hoping to get a couple more in me while at home

Pat
