This is the e-mail received from the Low...I hope they are not taking a break that turns into one where they never put things together. I know it was posted earlier that they were writing new music, and from the songs played at recent shows, that seemed to be true...BUT, here is the mail:
Greetings from your friends and Abstinence-Only Advocates Lowest of the Low;
So, it’s like this:
A little over a year ago we released the album Sordid Fiction upon an unsuspecting world. We had been reunited for a few years at that point, and felt it was important to reassert ourselves as a relevant and current band. We were very happy with the results, and crossed Canada a few times to support our effort, meeting old friends and gaining new ones along the way. We also paid some memorable visits to our neighbours in Buffalo, a city that has always been a second home to us. It’s all been extremely fun.
Recently we spent time considering what to do next. The idea was to assess where we are as a group; pondering all those agonizing tangible and intangible factors that go into making our Artistic Selves happy or unhappy. Many options were considered.
The end result of these deliberations is that Ron is going to make a solo album, and the band is going to scale back its activity for the next while. We don’t have any shows scheduled beyond the ones listed below, and won’t be recording together in the near future. We’re not saying that there won’t be any more shows, as we are all still extremely fond of each other (in a very manly, Liberal Elite way, of course) and enjoy playing music together, but for now, it’s not going to be a priority.
As always, we would like to sincerely thank all of you for taking an interest in what we do, and for the unwavering support you’ve shown us over the years. It is truly and deeply appreciated. You rock.

In addition, please be aware that Stephen Stanley will be performing as part of “Summer Room in the City” a songwriter’s night hosted by Alun Piggins, Jud Ruhl and Sean Creamer at the Paddock, 178 Bathurst St., on December 4th, 2005 at 10pm.

You betcha I'll be at Infinity on the 30th! Maybe I will even see some of you there. Who knows, it may be their last show together. Hope not. I am excited however to hear some of Ron's solo stuff!
