I have every Hip CD. And most people 'round these parts seem to have all the records AND a plentitude of boots, etc.. So here's my question...don't egg me, now...why the excitement around Hipeponymous?

Honestly, I don't understand why I'd pay [insert cost here] two new songs and a bunch of stuff I already own. The only thing that's even making me think twice is the apparent remixing of those mangled Fully Completely tracks. That, I'll admit, is a draw. But in the absence of a crop of 'unreleased' stuff or demos, the only thing here that really seems worth owning is the DVD. Which is WAY cheaper than the whole set.

Am I missing something? cratch:

A 48 page book and a separate DVD that contains all their videos and the vignettes and the "documentary" are only available in the box set.

For some of us, we're completists and have to have everything. For others, it's not worth it... and I think the band/management/record company realized that and that is why you have a choice.
