Um, that's a big list... talk about covering all your bases!

I wonder if people from the other hockey-playing countries read that and say to themselves, "Damn Canadians!"

Dan Cloutier is on the list. That says somethiing. It says that any Canadian player left off the list should feel some sort of shame because if Cloutier can make the list, every Canadian in the NHL who is even mediocore should make it.

well we're almost 2 months in now.

Has anyone impressed you thats on the list or maybe not on the list. With the way Marty's been playin does he still deserve to be the # 1 goalie. Personally I think he does, because he always steps it up in international play. Would you put Spezza on there based on his play thus far. I think it would be a good idea to have him and Heatly on a line together. Thoughts?

Gretzky promised Yzerman a spot if he wanted it, I hope he doesn't, amazing career and a great player but he shouldn't be on this team. I think Brodeur should start in goal, but Luongo should get a chance to make an impression as well he's outstanding. Spezza and Heatley would make a great tandem, but so would alot of others too, its a tough call, but the way those two are playing right now it looks like a good idea, who do you put on the other wing?

There are some very impressive youngsters that need to be on the team - Spezza, Heatley, and Crosby come to mind. I also think younger defencemen such as Bouwmeester, McCabe, and Phaneuf should get a serious shot.

i have a bet with a leaf-hater who thinks that mccabe shouldnt make the team...

even if you dont like the guy, the way he's been playing, he should be on the team for sure

What, does Eric Staal not exist??? Staal has played as well as anyone this year IMO. :thumb:

Seriously, Staal deserves a shot. And Heatley and Spezza HAVE to be on a line together. The chemistry is obviously already there. Why wouldn't you take advantage of it?

As for Crosby, I'm not so sure. I think there are a number of other players who deserve a spot ahead of him. Hell, he's only 18 - his time will come.

As a Leaf fan, my only concern with having McCabe there is the way he tends to shit the bed at bad times. He practically lost the series to Philthy two years ago by himself. That being said, he's no better or no worse than the incredibly overhyped Jovo.

Agree Staal deserves a shot for sure, I hope he gets a chance, he's young put him on a fourth line, or make him a spare at least. Id take McCabe over Jovo right now, everytime Jovo suits up for Canada he gets hurt anyway, I dont think we lose out either way.
