Wow...that was something else!!! One of the best shows I've ever witnessed. Eddie came out before the opener and did a solo acoustic version of Porch!!! Awesome...
They opened with Release, which was the best version I've ever heard of it...Eddie's vocals were mixed perfectly and they soared...gave me shivers. Great mix of songs old and new with awesome energy from band and crowd. Harvest Moon was wonderful. During the 2nd verse of Rockin' with the house lights on, Bono ran out from the side of the stage to join Eddie...with the rest of U2 watching from seats on the side of the stage. A killer Ledbetter ended a phenomenal night.

I have no problem with negative reviews...I mean, it's what critics get paid for, right? But this piece is one of the most pathetic attempts at music journalism I've ever read--even by the Star's standards. Read it if you've got a strong stomach.

Oh, and did Carrie Brownstein sing "Harvest Moon"? I thought that was Corin Tucker...but then again, what do I know?

You sure did!!! I was there and it's all true. This show blew my socks off. I've been a Pearl Jam fan since Ten came out when I was in highschool and it's taken me this long to see them and I can't believe what I've been missing. I thought Hamilton last week was awesome but last night was something special. Picture 22,000 shaking fists all in sync during Rocking in a Free World. There were points throughout the night I couldn't even hear my own voice singing at the top of my lungs. It was loud I tell ya. Louder than any hip show, louder than anything I've ever witnessed. Pearl Jam fans have got to be some of the most dedicated bunch of people who love their band and if you were there last night you'd know what I was talking about. WOW!!!!

That is a bad review. I thought it was one of the most High energy shows I have ever seen, Higher than any Hip show I have ever seen, and those are pretty high evergy.

Comparing Pearl Jam to U2? Yeah, that sounds like a great premise for a concert review right there. I hear U2 put on a really good live show but c'mon. That doesn't mean Pearl Jam aren't "relevant". That's the problem with music nowadays. Everyone is compared to everyone else. Comparisons just lead to hate. They lead to jealousy.

As I've read you guys talk about the shows, I've come to the conclusion that Pearl Jam put on a HELL OF A SHOW. I mean, this is a Hip message board and most of you like Pearl Jam MORE THAN THE HIP live. That's saying something about Pearl Jam.

Most of the reviews are true. It was a fantastic show! I have been to a lot of shows at the ACC and I have NEVER heard it as loud as it was during RITFW! Pure magic I tell you!

Wow, what a strange review. Very bitter and angry. I believe it's also the first negative PJ review I've read on this entire tour. Even the Calgary Sun's resident douchebag Mike Bell gave them a good review. And that guy hates everybody. The chick who wrote this obviously isn't a fan, and that's fine, but her petty jabs at the band are a little juvenile. It sounds like she's angry about their continued success and that in her opinion they have no right to remain relevant after so many years.

Well said. I couldn't agree with you more. It is apparent she has a grudge to hold against PJ. Almost like "why did everyone come to this show? They certainly don't deserve it because they are not showmans with huge stages and elabourate lighting rigs." BLAH BLAH BLAH!
