That a big negative for me. I own an Archos Gmini400, and I think it's an all around fantastic player, but like almost every other MP3 player, gapless is just not possible.

I haven't read the link you posted, but it seems like it's just for Ipods.

I never understood why Apple couldn't make this work with the "Import as single track" process, i.e. throw some chapter markers in according to the length of the songs. All the information is there, and even if it only skipped you ahead to the approximate break between songs rounded to the nearest second, that's all you'd really need.

For products that claim to be all about "the music listening experience", the gaps between songs issue seems to be a stunning oversight. You would've thought that someone on the development team would've raised a point or two about this, e.g. the stoner market being pissed to high hell when putting on Dark Side of the Moon only to hear a gap at the end of "Speak to Me".

i'd have been pissed if I were 17 and that happened!
