i'm not a canucks fan..... but i too am glad that he's back

What he did was dumb, but its in the past. Lets move on and play hockey. I think its the right time to let him back in myself, I think he suffered enough, I wonder though if there was no lockout what Bettman would have done with him last year? But I like the way he plays the game and he is fun to watch, the Canucks just got a whole lot better with him back in their lineup.

The fact the NHL announced the lifting of the Bertuzzi ban less than an hour after #99 was introduced as the new Coyotes coach suggests they hoped it would get quietly buried.
Obviously, it wasn't and in many places it superceded Gretzky's hiring as the lead story in this morning's sports section.
Personally, I think 13 + 7 games is hardly a sufficient punishment for what he did (consider Marty McSorely was banned for a complete season that actually was PLAYED), but at least this decision proves one thing - they can dress it up in a new logo and say they are going to re-invent the on-ice product, but in the board room the "New" NHL is going to be just as gutless as the "Old" one...

I was at the Jays game last night at the ROGERS centre, and when they had the ROGERS sportsnet update and showed that Bertuzzi was getting reinstated, everybody cheered. I find that a bit disgusting. Unless you're a Canuck fan, why cheer? It's as if he's become some sort of martyr. HE PUNCHED A GUY IN THE HEAD FROM BEHIND! That doesn't quailfy him for any sympathy. I think he had been through enough and it was time to leave the past in the past (the Bertuzzi can't return until Moore returns argument is problematic) but I would never think to cheer for that news. It doesn't make me happy. To the opposite, just thinking about the whole incident kind of makes me sad. I'm I alone here?

ok so if everybody thinks he should be banned for so long, ban everybody else who jumped on them when they fell to the ice..the fact is, that mcsorley used a stick..that is a weapon..that was way worse of an incident..that fact is, if moore hadn't been injured, we wouldn't be talking about it...people who do this on the street get less punishment by our justice system...

His punishment doesn't fit the crime, Period. This douchebag should be sitting out at least the first 20-30 games of the season, maybe more. Just my opinion.
