With the forming of every band, a foundation must be layed on which that group will focus its direction and attention on. This foundation is built up of the combined influences within its band members. It would be nice to know where the Tragically Hip get their influences from, be it musically before their time, books they have read which influence their songs (such as Hugh Maclennan's "The watch that ends the night." - Courage), or movies and other stories that have struck a chord in the band. Let us attempt to compile a list of things that encapsulate the Tragically Hip influences.

I have seen Stephen's site and it is a great resource; however, I am posting this to try to find interesting books to read, or movies to see that could be beneficial to the Tragically Hip influences.
