Cost of getting a Hip cover band to play?
#1

I know some people on here know bands that cover the Hip. I wanted to know what it costs to have one of them play a show?

When we got the ROAD APPLES to play at our school in high school they were $3,000. They were worth it and they were the best! The next best thing is Little Bones I'd say.

I saw Road Apples this year at a private function in Kingston that Molson and Foster's put on. They weren't that bad... they were five guys covering the Hip rather than trying to be the Hip

Highlight of the night though was good old Danny Akroyd, doing his best to "get to know" the Queen's students...

Cheers

So the Road Apples are still kicking around!?? Any idea how to find out when and if they have other gigs scheduled?

Are these the guys that call themselves Vangabond Heart the other 1/2 of the time? if so, ya i liked them too :thumb:

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

They were called Vagabond Groove. Their song "Denial" got air play in Brockville, Kingston, and Ottawa I know. But they did away with that name some time ago.

My reaction at the time was "I thought they had broken up" I think they're in it for the fun and the booze by now to be honest (which probably makes them a better live act)

I see you live in TO and I'm not too sure about the cover or "tribute" bands in that area, but the best I've seen is in Ottawa and they're called Little Bones.

I'm good friends with a couple of them and I'll ask for the cost and get back to ya. Something tells me they wouldn't go up to Toronto but there's no harm in asking. Just a rough guess, but I figure you could get them for around $1500....plus beers of course.

I remember all to well seeing Dan during my days at Queens (Cocomo and AJ's) using his best efforts getting to know the Queen's girls.
