The new Foos disc is amazing. Definitely one of the best albums of the year so far. I'd love to see the Calgary show, but I'm extremely poor at the moment. Any spare money that I have will be put towards the Jeff Tweedy fund. He's playing the Calgary Folkfest this year and I haven't seen him (or Wilco) live since ARA '97. Long story short, I need a Tweedy fix and I need it bad, so I'm afraid he takes priority over the Foo Fighters.

Easy fix for you...take a thermos of your favorite beverage and sit by the river on the Eau Clair side to watch Tweedy for free... and buy a floor ticket for the Foos, that's my plan

Way to go Lance, Foo's rock! The new album is smokin hot, I like DOA the best. I wish they would come to London Cry

*I still want to know who the guy on the back of the album cover is (in the picture) Does anyone know?? :?

Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”

I also got floor tickets for Winnipeg. It will be the perfect fix while waiting for my two Pearl Jam shows in September. It's also four days before my 22nd b-day!

Thought I'd post this here instead of create a new thread.

This is interesting... http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/entertainment/77092004.htm

Quote:FOO FIGHTERS frontman DAVE GROHL insists his time with legendary grunge band NIRVANA was a lot more fun than people might imagine.

Grohl, who drummed in Nirvana, is aware an impression of angst-ridden darkness surrounds the band, particularly in the light of frontman KURT COBAIN's tragic suicide in 1994.

But Grohl is keen to point out life on the road with Nirvana was one of non-stop laughter.

He explains, "People have this idea that the band travelled with a black cloud following us everywhere we went and it's absolutely not true.

"The memories that I revisit are great; we had so many f**king good times, good laughs.

"The way the whole thing ended leaves everyone with a little bit of the black cloud, but honestly, it was so much fun."

Although the FOO FIGHTERS frontman wishes he'd caused more trouble before he rocketed to fame in NIRVANA at the beginning of the 1990s.

Grohl regrets missing out on a wild youth, and admits he shouldn't have been so loyal to his former photographer wife JENNIFER YOUNGBLOOD.

He muses, "I wish I'd f**ked up twice as hard when I was a kid because it just doesn't f**king matter.

"Also, I should've listened to my friends and dumped the bitch."

Dave Grohl rules! :thumb:

One more week and a day till Foos in TO
I think they start in Vancouver soon if they have not started the tour yet

For people that have been to Molson Amp before, how's the view/sound from 200's, I'm guessing good since it's first section after floor, we got 5th row seats in 203 I think

Your seats at the Amp will be rock solid. While it has the best sound in Toronto, sometimes it takes a couple of tunes for each band's sound guy to get it down right.

I've seen both the Hip and Jack Johnson from that area and the sight lines were great -- and it really is the fifth actual row of the venue as the 100 level is removable seating depending on the concert.

Back to the sound though -- When the Hip did the two night stand in 2002, we saw night one in the 200s and night two on the lawns. Sound was better on the lawns, but mainly because the Amp has a time delay system to filter the sound outside of the bowl. That said, the sound in the seats is still pretty damn good.

Cheers

The tour kicks off tonight in Van. Then they're here in Calgary on Monday night. I was away when tickets went on sale and my buddies all dropped the ball too so we'll be upper deck by the stage for the show on Monday. Still should be good times.

I got great seats for Calgary beside the stage in 108 row 3 for this one. Love the boys, never seen them before though. Hope they pull out a little bit of acoustic stuff too.
