Just wondering if anyone else has heard about this New Brunswick band. They are awesome :thumb:
The S-s-s-sound Wrote:Beauty of a band. I got into them a year or so before their first album Birth Of Confusion came out, used to play at The Scherzo in Kingston which at the time was a really cool atmosphere for their kind of music. They've really changed their sound now the past couple of years, and I must say their new album, Flies In The No Fly, though still really well done, is not as good as their first. Dunno, I'm just picky like that! www.grandtheftbus.com
I really like that whole jamband feel they kinda give off, their ability to feed off of each others' sounds, and the drummer is a frickin' machine, holy smokes; highly underrated.

Call Upon The Author Wrote:Made Upwards is the third album from Canadian four piece Grand Theft Bus and, I have to admit, the moment I realised their nationality I had high hopes. Canada is responsible for some of my favourite music, from The Tragically Hip through Wintersleep to The Barenaked Ladies. Great bands and all ones who share a passion for well crafted lyrics coupled to music that tells a story, no pressure then guys! These guys encapsulate all that makes them so special in a neat little package with opener ‘Do I Have To Dance’. Starting off with a poppy rhythm and gentle strumming guitars, it builds to a crescendo-ing chorus and then gallops off on a tangent before finally finding itself again – magic! As the album proceeds we see even more facets of the band from leaping math-rock time changes to acoustic meandering. From time to time the band get lost and come up a little short, but it’s a fair price to pay for such eclecticism!
