Donating Blood
#1

Have any of you ever been faint after giving blood? If so, how long did it last?

Also, if you exercise regularly, did you notice any increase in fatigue (muscle or otherwise) within days of donating?

Any info would be greatly appreciated :thumb:

I've been a little lightheaded on occassion after giving blood, but nothing that would interupt my daily routine. As far as exercise goes...you might want to take it easy on the day you donate, but after that, you shouldn't have much of a problem. Hope this helps!

I donated blood for my mother this past Christmas and very nearly passed out. However, after lying down for about 5 minutes the feeling passed. The rest of the day I just took it easy and had no problems.

My stepfather, however, had no problems at all when he gave blood at the same time. Mind you, he's almost 100 lbs heavier than I and has over 6" on me.

I guess it really varies from person to person, and how much blood you give.

It was for extra credit in college nutrition class. I weighed about 120 lbs. at the time. A girl told me I was out for about 1-2 minutes. My legs were killing me. She then told me I was having convultions in my legs. Never gave blood again!
