I read in the paper they're making this a huge event over there. Deservedly so, I guess... right now it is the pre-eminent trophy to be given out to senior hockey players this year. What are your impressions?

ya its a pretty big deal in town right now...i guess the allan cups fortunes took a turn for the better when our city hosted it a few years ago....tremendous community support for these types of things out in these parts....horse lake representing alberta and with players like fleury & odjick seem to be the best team here(they spanked our border kings tonight 9-2)fleury had 4 pts i think & gino had 2 goals

Odjick is no longer an NHL player and since Fleury is under suspension he isn't considered an NHL locked out player. *shrugs*

i think as long as they weren`t under an nhl contract the previous year, they can play. there was some dispute over fleury playing when he decided to join horse lake for a reason that totally escapes me at the moment...something to do with him receiving pay last year

Fleury was under contract, with the Blackhawks. It's because he's suspended that he's not considered an NHL lockout player.
