I would assume the usual alternating years would apply, meaning get out yer touring shoes for July 2006.
I do believe that Robbie said there was something big this year and we all jumped to the conclusion they were touring. I think there was also a mention of a possible return to the US in spring.
Doesn't the greatest hits come out this year?! I'd think they'd want to tour to promo that. Though they are working on an album all ready.
Maybe the "big thing" was that they knew they were getting inducted in the HOF?!

I just heard an interview with Paul on the radio this morning and he said that they are getting together a few days every week to work on the new album. So hopefully Stephen is correct and we will be seeing a new tour next year. I also heard something else very exciting straight from Paul's mouth. He said there are plans to go over all the archived Hip material and eventually put out a disc full of songs that never made it on previous albums. How cool would that be?! But by the sounds of it, it'll be a while before they even have time to invest in a project like that.

Netherlands in the house! The Hip love playing there, that's for sure. If they tour Europe next album, I'm going! Never been to Europe -- good excuse to go!

My money is on no tour this year. Although with a Greatest Hits slated for the fall maybe they'll do a few dates?
I just hope if they do a Roadside next summer there is also a proper tour for the next album either before or after it. Roadside's are great but usually The Hip played shorter sets than usual at them...I know, I'm being greedy.

Wow, going to Europe and catching a show would be GREAT!
What a good idea..
Amsterdam
I know the guys are getting older..but taking time off from tour is so harsh on the fans. My other fav band to obsess over (Widespread) took a year off, and it's killing us. Scalping went through the roof, venues sold out in seconds...
Pissed alot of fans off. Since Mikey (lead guitar) died..it only added to the "eh" factor about travelling to see them..
