I recommend you run to your nearest record store and buy it right now. Don't think about it. Just go. Trust me. There is some great rock n' roll coming out of this country right now, and Matt Mays and his magnificent band, El Torpedo, are doing their part to help lead the charge. This album is so damn good it's already slid into the #2 slot on my "best of 2005 so far" list. There's a good possibility that Springsteen could knock Matt down to #3 when he releases his new album "Devils and Dust" at the end of April, but for now Matt and the boys are sittin' pretty, right behind Kathleen Edwards.
It's a damn shame that a band as great as these guys are continue to operate below the mainstream radar, while soulless watered down pre-packaged crap like Theory of a Nickelcreed get all the f**king radio play and label support. It's disgusting.
